Londoner opening furthers Adelson’s vision: LVS Chairman

The reopening of Sands China’s The Londoner, which cost some $2 billion to refurbish, has “delivered on Sheldon Adelson’s vision through the ongoing development of Cotai,” says Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Robert Goldstein.

The revamped version of the property, one of three that together dominate the main Cotai Strip, commenced even before the group pledged some MOP30 billion ($3.7 billion) into its new 10-year gaming concession, some 92 percent of which is going to non-gaming.

Speaking of the overall development that the group has already achieved, Goldstein noted: “where 250 acres of empty reclaimed land once sat, we have built one of the world’s leading tourist destinations with an incredible future ahead of it.”
