The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) has earned a Top 10 spot in the Hospitality & Leisure Management section of the QS World University Rankings 2026.
Coming in with an overall score of 76.5, the institution placed 10th on the list for the second time in recent years, having achieved the same classification in 2023. Last year, the University slipped to 13th place, after declining to 12th place in 2024.
The group achieved its highest score in Academic Reputation, at 81, while Employer Reputation was scored 73.7.
The group offers 13 hospitality and tourism Bachelor degree programs, covering areas such as Hotel Management, Tourism Event Management, Culinary and Heritage Management, and Marketing and Brand Management. It also offers 17 specified Master degree programs linked to the sectors, including Events Management, Smart Technologies, Heritage Management, Tourism Management, Luxury Hospitality and Health Service Management, and a Master of Philosophy in International Hospitality and Tourism Management.
The institution, formerly known as the Macau Institute for Tourism Studies, also offers three PhD programs in related areas. The courses are taught in English and Chinese.
The QS ranking for Hospitality & Leisure Management was led by EHL Hospitality Business School, in Lausanne, Switzerland, with an overall score of 98.3 and a perfect 100 score in Employer Reputation.
