There’s a new way for the public to perform on stage and win prizes at this year’s Sands Shopping Carnival, with the new Bank of Communications Presents: K-POP Dance Competition, along with the return of the ever-popular ICBC ePay Presents: Karaoke King Singing Competition. Applications for both competitions will be accepted from May 22 until 6 p.m. June 20.
Organized by Sands China, the contests are free to compete in or watch at the four-day, free-admission 2023 Sands Shopping Carnival. The carnival takes place at The Venetian® Macao’s Cotai Expo July 20-23, including an invitation-only preview session on the first day.
ICBC ePay Presents: Karaoke King Singing Competition 2023
Macao residents ages 19 and above can compete as individuals or teams, with prizes to be awarded to the champion, first-runner-up, and second-runner-up.
Macau Artistes Association returns as the co-organiser of the competition and will send representatives as judges. Preliminary rounds take place July 22 and the final round is on July 23, concluding with a prize presentation ceremony.
Bank of Communications Presents: K-POP Dance Competition 2023
As the global popularity of the Korean Wave continues, the Sands Shopping Carnival is introducing this brand-new K-POP dance competition for carnival attendees. The contest is open to Macao residents ages 18 or below, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their talents and shine on stage.
On July 23, dancers can compete in groups of three to eight persons, with a judging panel awarding prizes for the top three performances.
