MGM China: ‘all payments fully settled’ regarding actor Jacky Heung

Following reports that a famous Hong Kong actor had been sued by MGM China over alleged gambling debts, the company has clarified that ‘all payments have been fully settled’.

In a release early on Wednesday, the Macau-based gaming operator indicated that ‘the matter involving Mr. Jacky Heung Cho arose from a credit guarantee he provided for a third party. Due to overdue payments not being made, MGM China subsequently initiated standard legal procedures to address the related matters’.

The company furthered that payments had been settled ‘and the corresponding legal procedures have been terminated’.

The statement comes after reports that Heung allegedly owed some HK$1.4 million ($180,000) to MGM, resulting in the operator levying a lawsuit to recoup the funds.
