Macau weekly GGR down 35% on May on Guangdong restrictions

Macau’s gross gambling revenue in the week to June 14 fell 3 percent from the prior week and was 35 percent lower than in May due to new travel restrictions on an outbreak of Covid in Guangdong province, says Bernstein Research.

According to the firm’s channel checks average daily revenue was MOP219 million.

Bernstein said the government in Guangzhou has expressed confidence new cases will drop to zero by June 20th, which would lead to a recovery in GGR.
