Macau Slot has lost its long-standing monopoly to offer sports betting and instant lotteries in Macau.

In an official dispatch, the government said that its license has been extended for a further three years until June 2024, but on a non-exclusive basis. The government also said the supplier may operate other forms of lotteries or mutual betting, through regulations to be submitted to the approval of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Department.

Macau Slot was first granted approval to accept football betting in 1998. It also is permitted to accept bets on basketball.
