Melco and Wynn announce a bonus for employees

Macau gaming operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Wynn Macau announced a one-month discretionary bonus on Friday.

Melco’s bonus will be paid to all eligible non-management colleagues in Macau before the Chinese New Year. According to the press release, Melco has also declared a 2.5 percent base salary increase for all eligible non-management employees in Macau, effective April 1, 2024.

Lawrence Ho, Chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, stated, “The bonus payout and base salary increase recognize the dedication, loyalty, and hard work of our eligible non-management colleagues. We are thankful for their commitment and efforts in maintaining Melco’s service excellence and delivering the most memorable experiences to our guests.”

On the same day, another gaming operator, Wynn Macau, announced a “special allowance” equivalent to one month’s gross salary that will be paid on January 31, 2024, to all eligible full-time Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace team members, representing 96.7 percent of the current 11,180 workforce.

Linda Chen, President, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Wynn Macau, Limited expressed appreciation for employees and also noted that “we are confident in the outlook for 2024 as we continue with plans to introduce more exciting world-class events and projects, which will further drive the high-quality and diversified development in the tourism industry while also leveraging its international advantages to solidify Macau’s position as a world center of tourism and leisure.”

On the same day, Galaxy Macau also announced a bonus but is unlikely to have a pay raise.
