Sands China has completed its 11th Responsible Gaming Ambassador Advanced Training Programme, reinforcing its commitment to responsible gaming and supporting the Macao SAR government’s vision of promoting a healthy gaming environment.
Held at The Londoner Macao on Aug. 24-25, the programme provided advanced training to 42 Responsible Gaming Ambassadors from across the company. Through expert-led presentations, role-playing exercises, interactive activities and practical intervention training, participants enhanced their ability to identify signs of gambling disorder and guide individuals to appropriate support resources.

The programme featured contributions from leading experts, including Professor Alan Feldman of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), Professor Davis Fong of the University of Macau, and senior counsellors from the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office. Together, they provided insights into responsible gaming trends, intervention strategies and Macao’s evolving regulatory landscape.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: “Promoting responsible gaming is crucial to Sands China’s corporate social responsibility and serves as a vital foundation for the sustainable development of Macao’s integrated tourism and leisure industry.”
He added that partnerships with international academic institutions, local universities and community organisations help broaden employees’ perspectives while strengthening practical skills that support the company’s responsible gaming initiatives.

Since its launch in 2013, the Responsible Gaming Ambassador Advanced Training Programme has trained more than 1,000 participants. Combined with mandatory responsible gaming training for all 28,000-plus team members, the initiative remains a key pillar of Sands China’s efforts to foster a culture of responsible gaming in Macao.
