Macau Health Bureau director Alvis Long said that the government would “consider” imposing quarantine requirements for arrivals from Guangdong, but felt that China’s pandemic prevention efforts would be enough to contain the current spike.
“Mainland China imposes very strict measures in place when a case is discovered that could be considered a medium risk area and tests people in the whole area. We can see that the pandemic prevention efforts are very strong and efficient,” Alvis Lo said in today’s pandemic update press conference.
“We are always in communication and we can take the appropriate measures. I think our current measures are sufficient.”
