Star Sports chooses ClearStake to deliver bank‑based player verification

Star Sports has selected ClearStake to enhance its player verification and compliance workflows using secure, bank‑powered technology.

The partnership will see Star Sports integrate ClearStake’s recently-launched ID by Bank solution.

The product allows players to verify their identity in a matter of seconds using their own banking app, removing the need for document uploads and manual reviews. It leads to a significant upturn in the pass rate of verification checks, which in turn increases depositing players while reducing fraud and operational overheads.

Star Sports will also leverage ClearStake’s existing affordability and source of funds technology.

Flynn Goward, Managing Director of Star Sports, said: “We’re always looking for ways to make the player journey smoother without compromising on compliance. ClearStake’s technology gives us exactly that balance. It’s been simple to integrate and we’re already seeing faster verification and fewer hurdles for genuine customers.”

ID by Bank has been rolled out at a handful of other leading UK operators over recent weeks, and is already revolutionising how operators verify players online, delivering considerably higher pass rates, reducing operational overheads and fraud and increasing FTD conversion rates.

Martin Burt, CEO of ClearStake, added: “Star Sports is one of the most recognised and trusted betting brands in the UK, so we’re thrilled to be helping them enhance their verification processes. By adopting ID by Bank alongside our affordability and source of funds tools, they’re setting the benchmark for what modern player verification should look like.”
