SBC Summit Education+ adds Web3 & Crypto Academy on payments, blockchain and player trust

SBC Summit will provide a practical look at the role of Web3 and cryptocurrency in the gaming industry through its dedicated Web3 & Crypto Academy, moving beyond speculation to focus on real-world applications across payments, transparency, security, and player trust.

Part of SBC Summit’s premium Education+ programme, the Academy will bring together leading Web3 specialists, technology innovators, and industry executives to explore where blockchain technology is delivering measurable value, how it can enhance trust and transparency, and what businesses need to consider when adopting Web3 solutions.

Taking place on 30 September 2026 at Sala Tejo, MEO Arena, the Web3 & Crypto Academy is aimed at professionals seeking practical knowledge and actionable strategies for integrating Web3 and crypto technologies into their operations. The agenda will feature expert-led workshops, case studies, live demonstrations, fireside chats, panel discussions, and presentations covering topics ranging from crypto payments to blockchain-powered verification systems.

“In an industry as competitive as ours, it’s often the small things that have the biggest impact. Web3 and crypto can offer that advantage, whether it’s speeding up payments, expanding offerings or building greater player trust,” said Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC. “What’s so unique about this Academy is that it moves beyond discussing potential. It’s about showing attendees where Web3 and crypto payments can add real value and giving them the practical knowledge to start applying it within their own businesses.”

The Academy will begin with an overview of the current state of blockchain and cryptocurrency within the gambling sector. In the presentation ‘Crypto, Blockchain & Gambling: Where Are We Now?’, Simit Naik, Web3 Specialist at Teronade Group, will assess how Web3 is creating value today and explore the future role of crypto, blockchain, and hybrid models across the industry.

Attention will then turn to digital payments with the session ‘Crypto Payments in Regulated Markets: Hype or Reality?’. Featuring Anthony Day (Marketing Director, VeChain), Dinis Guarda (CEO & Founder, Ztudium), Aaron Sanchez (Director of Industry Engagement, MiCA), and Dereck Hoogenkamp (Chairman, Yalla Limited), alongside moderator Udo Seckelmann (Head of Gambling & Crypto, Bichara e Motta Advogados), the discussion will examine how operators are incorporating crypto and stablecoins into their payment ecosystems and the implications for regulated markets.

Delegates will also gain insight into blockchain verification through the live demonstration and case study ‘Provably Fair: Can Players Really Verify Every Outcome?’. During the session, Ulle Skottling, CEO of DeGaming, will compare traditional random number generator systems with on-chain verification models, demonstrating how blockchain technology can provide greater transparency over gaming outcomes.

The day will conclude with the workshop ‘Building Hybrid Gambling Platforms: Where Web2 Meets Web3’, where Gene Deyev, Co-Founder & CEO of Stobox, and Brett Calapp, CEO & Co-Founder of Turnt Gaming, will showcase practical examples of Web3 integration. Using real-world case studies involving crypto payments, digital assets, and on-chain verification, they will illustrate how hybrid platforms can be developed within existing gambling ecosystems.

The programme will also feature the fireside chat ‘Trust on the Chain: Does Blockchain Really Make Gaming Fair?’, which will explore the connection between blockchain technology, player trust, and transparency, while assessing both the opportunities and limitations of on-chain verification within gaming.

Access to the Web3 & Crypto Academy is available exclusively through the Education+ Pass.

Priced at €249 as an add-on to all SBC Summit and Affiliate Leaders Summit ticket categories, the Education+ Pass grants entry to one Academy of the attendee’s choice, including AI, Digital Marketing & CRM, Player Experience, and Web3 & Crypto.

In addition, Education+ Pass holders will have access to all SBC Summit masterclasses, covering topics such as sportsbook trading, responsible gaming marketing, and electronic gaming.
