SBC has formalised a long-term partnership with Portuguese tourism authorities, the Municipality of Lisbon and Lisboa FCE to keep its flagship SBC Summit in the capital through 2030.
The agreement with Turismo de Portugal, the Municipality of Lisbon and Lisboa FCE extends SBC’s previously confirmed commitment beyond the 2027 edition. Dates and institutional support are now secured for the 2028, 2029 and 2030 editions.
The agreement reflects a shared ambition to expand SBC Summit’s international reach and strengthen Lisbon’s position as the event’s long-term home. The combination of the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) and MEO Arena provides the space and infrastructure needed for the summit’s exhibition, conference, networking and entertainment programmes.

“We’re happy to formalise the way we feel by committing to this city through 2030,” said Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC. “The agreement gives SBC, our attendees and partners the stability to plan and invest for the future. Knowing where we will be and for how long allows us to focus on making the Summit bigger, better and more valuable for everyone who attends.”
The agreement was signed on the final day of SBC Summit, with senior representatives from the Municipality of Lisbon, FIL and Turismo de Portugal in attendance. Those present included:
- Gonçalo Reis, vice president of the City of Lisbon
- Maria Luísa Aldim, deputy mayor for Innovation and Social Development
- António Ramalho, president of the Executive Board at FIL
- Carlos Oliveira, member of the Executive Board at FIL
- Teresa Monteiro, member of the Board at Turismo de Portugal
“We are very happy to have the support of the city we have chosen to host our biggest and most ambitious event,” Sojmark added. “Year after year, Lisbon continues to prove that it is the right fit, and we are grateful for the support we have received.”
António Ramalho, president of the Executive Board at FIL, shared: “We are committed to working alongside SBC, supporting its ambitions and creating the conditions for the Summit to continue growing in Lisbon. Events of this scale and international reach are important to positioning Lisbon, Parque das Nações and FIL at the forefront of the global events industry.”
Growing Lisbon presence
SBC Summit first arrived in Lisbon in 2024. For the 2026 edition, attendees travelled from 178 countries and generated an estimated 85,000 room nights across the Portuguese capital, with final attendance figures still being confirmed.
The 2026 programme included a Leadership in Sports Business keynote featuring basketball icon and investor Michael Jordan, Sportradar founder and CEO Carsten Koerl, and DraftKings co-founder, CEO and Chairman Jason Robins. The discussion was moderated by broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher.
The event also introduced the Affiliate Leaders Summit, the Global Prediction Markets Forum and the African Gaming Forum. Other programme highlights included keynotes from football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano and UFC champion Charles Oliveira, as well as the INFINITY Lisbon closing event, headlined by Tiësto.
SBC Summit will return to Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena from September 21–23, 2027.
