SBC has entered into a strategic partnership with the Gaming Regulators Africa Forum (GRAF), strengthening dialogue among African gaming regulators, industry stakeholders, and the wider international gaming community.
The agreement establishes a two-way collaboration between the organisations. SBC will support the GRAF 2026 Conference, taking place from 14–17 September at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo, Mozambique, while GRAF will join SBC Summit 2026 in Lisbon as an Event Partner of the invite-only African Gaming Forum.
Through the partnership, GRAF will help shape the regulatory agenda at the African Gaming Forum, which takes place on Wednesday, 30 September, at the Myriad Hotel. The programme will include a dedicated session, GRAF: African Gaming Under the Microscope, bringing together senior representatives from gaming authorities across the continent.
The Forum will convene regulators, operators and senior industry leaders to examine the market, regulatory and commercial developments influencing gaming across Africa. Discussions will cover market entry, regulatory change, taxation, responsible gambling and growth opportunities across both established and emerging jurisdictions.
Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, said: “Africa’s gaming sector cannot be understood through a single lens. Markets across the continent have distinct regulatory systems, priorities and stages of development, which makes informed dialogue between regulators and industry essential. GRAF brings together the people responsible for shaping those regulatory environments. By partnering with them, we can ensure the African Gaming Forum gives regulators a central role in discussions around the industry’s future, while creating stronger links with the international gaming community.”
“We are equally pleased to support the GRAF 2026 Conference in Maputo. This partnership is designed to create an ongoing exchange of knowledge and perspectives, rather than a single event-based collaboration.”
GRAF serves as a collaborative platform for African gaming regulators, supporting the exchange of regulatory knowledge, experience and best practice across jurisdictions. Its involvement at SBC Summit will bring regulatory perspectives from across the continent into a broader international industry conversation.
“This partnership is an important step towards strengthening Africa’s contribution to the global gaming dialogue,” added Reuben Mabutho Zwane, President of GRAF. “African regulators need opportunities to share experience, address common challenges, and engage directly with the international stakeholders shaping our industry. SBC’s support for the GRAF 2026 Conference will help us continue building meaningful connections among regulators across Africa, while the African Gaming Forum offers an opportunity to bring those perspectives to an international audience in Lisbon. We look forward to working with SBC and regulatory colleagues across the continent to advance a more informed, collaborative and sustainable approach to gaming regulation.”
Confirmed participants at the African Gaming Forum include senior representatives from several key African jurisdictions, including Moruntshi Kemorwale, CEO of the Gambling Authority Botswana; Lungile Dukwana, CEO of South Africa’s National Gambling Board; Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo, Acting Commissioner of the Gaming Commission of Ghana; Peter Maina Karimi, Director General of Kenya’s Gaming Regulatory Authority; Muchanankhwaye Mpuluka, CEO of the Malawi Gaming & Lotteries Authority; and Bashir Are, CEO of the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority.
Further regulatory representatives are expected to join the programme.
The African Gaming Forum will take place alongside SBC Summit 2026, SBC’s flagship global event, held from 29 September to 1 October at Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena. The Summit is expected to welcome 40,000 industry professionals.
Access to the African Gaming Forum is by invitation only.
