Simon Westbury appointed as CEO of Digitain’s Sport Generate

Sportsbook and casino platform provider Digitain has announced the appointment of Simon Westbury as CEO of the group’s Sport Generate division.

Westbury has been with Digitain since 2019, first heading its International Development Department, then as head of Sales, in 2021 assuming the role of Chief Business Officer which he held until the latest appointment.

He had previously served as COO of virtual sports betting developer VSoftCo and had previously acted as a consultant for Betsoft Gaming. Westbury has over 15 years experience in the iGaming industry.

Sport Generate is a newly formed company under Digitain, focused on ‘delivering the market leading Live Sports, Esports, Virtuals and Oddsfeed products,’ notes a company release.

Westbury’s appointment now leaves him ‘responsible for driving the strategic direction of Sport Generate’, working with management teams to continue product development and focus ‘on expanding the reach and impact of Sport Generate in the global marketplace’.

Speaking of his appointment, Westbury notes that “Sport Generate’s Table football, table tennis, esports, virtual sports have a reputation for excellence and innovation, and I am looking forward to working with the talented teams to continue that legacy and make a real impact in the industry”.

Digitain has recently announced further plans to increase its footprint, opening a new office in Bucharest in January and launching its payment division Paydrom at the end of the month.
