Former Genting Hong Kong-operated Crystal Cruises has relaunched under the A&K Travel Group, rebranding itself under its new ‘vision – Crystal – Exceptional at Sea’.

New cruises on the group’s Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphone ships will now embark throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean and more.

Speaking of the relaunch, Crystal president Jack Anderson noted that “I am delighted to announce that Crystal is reborn, with Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony reimagined and enhancements made to every part of our guests’ journey”.

Crystal was forced to sell its assets as Genting Hong Kong filed for bankruptcy in 2022, following the multi-billion-dollar collapse of its shipbuilding arm.

The company is now undergoing a mandated liquidation, with the relevant liquidators having been appointed in January.

Nearly all of its ships have been parsed off to new investors as it finalizes its closure.
