Dealer wages in Macau’s six concessionaires as of March this year ranged between MOP21,500 and MOP22,100 ($2,759) a month, with the highest average being paid by MGM China, followed by Sands China, the New Macau Gaming Staff Rights Association said.
Across the industry as a whole, dealer wages have fallen 6.1 percent with the total number of employees down by 295. Staffing costs have been a major concern for Macau’s operators, as non-locals are barred from being employed as dealers and the local labour market has been tight, with almost full employment.
