The Star Entertainment Group Limited has confirmed the appointment of Bruce Mathieson Jnr. as a Non-Executive Director, effective immediately, following the receipt of all necessary regulatory and ministerial approvals.
The announcement, made on August 29th, 2025. Michael Issenberg, who has served as an independent non-executive Director since July 11th, 2022, has informed the Board of his decision not to seek re-election at the company’s upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) in 2025. He will retire from the Board at the conclusion of the AGM.
Anne Ward, Chairman of The Star, expressed gratitude for Issenberg’s contributions over his three-year tenure, highlighting his roles as Chair of the Culture, People and Remuneration Committee, Member of the Audit Committee, and Chair of The Star Brisbane.
‘On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Michael for his significant contribution as a non-executive Director of The Star. We wish him well in his future endeavors’, she said in the announcement.
Ward also welcomed Mathieson Jnr. to the Board, stating her eagerness to work with him as they shape the future of The Star.
