AI is already disrupting traditional iGaming retention models: Promofy CEO

The iGaming industry is undergoing a paradigm shift as artificial intelligence (AI) redefines traditional player retention strategies, says Promofy CEO and Co-founder Irakli Davarashvili.

In an interview with AGB, Davarashvili said conventional methods — which often involve large CRM teams, manual workflows, and generic promotional pushes — are being rapidly replaced by intelligent, automated solutions that scale more efficiently. Promofy, he noted, offers a streamlined alternative.

“Traditional retention strategies in iGaming are resource-intensive,” said Davarashvili. “For multi-brand operators or large sportsbooks, this often leads to bloated teams, rising costs, and diminishing returns. Promofy changes that equation entirely.”

According to Promofy’s framework, its AI-powered platform enables operators to deploy highly personalized, real-time gamification campaigns without reallocating developer resources or rebuilding back-end systems. Integration takes just two to three weeks and is compatible with any CRM, allowing operators to avoid technical bottlenecks and reduce downtime.

Beyond ease of integration, the platform’s cost-efficiency is a key advantage. Promofy’s system reduces the need for large CRM teams and costly retention tools, allowing operators to shift operational budgets toward scalable, automated growth initiatives.

“You’re no longer paying for complexity — you’re investing in a system that launches fast, performs immediately, and optimizes itself continuously,” he added.

Addressing industry hesitations

Despite these advantages, some operators remain cautious about adopting AI-powered solutions. Davarashvili acknowledged that the most common concerns revolve around cost, complexity, and uncertainty about performance.

“A common hesitation is the perceived complexity and upfront investment required,” he said. “Many view AI as a costly initiative that might disrupt operations without guaranteed returns.”

To address this, Promofy emphasizes its low technical overhead and fast time-to-value. The platform’s quick integration minimizes disruption and allows for the immediate deployment of data-driven campaigns.

Tangible results and ROI

Davarashvili emphasized that the benefits of using Promofy are both measurable and significant — not just theoretical. The AI system has helped clients achieve conversion and retention outcomes that are difficult to reach through traditional CRM methods.

“In campaigns powered by our AI, we’ve achieved an 85 percent conversion rate from free-to-play to first-time depositors,” he shared. “This isn’t about pushing more bonuses — it’s about delivering the right incentive, at the right moment, based on real-time player behavior.”

Promofy clients have also reported a 25 to 40 percent increase in player lifetime value and a 40 percent rise in bet frequency — all while reducing internal workload.

“Promofy automates and personalizes the entire player journey — from onboarding through retention — using behavioral data, prediction algorithms, and real-time optimization,” he said.

Redefining retention as infrastructure

Discussing Promofy’s broader vision, Davarashvili said the company is repositioning gamification from a peripheral feature to a core part of iGaming infrastructure.

Rather than relying on static campaigns, operators using Promofy can offer dynamic missions, rewards, and prediction games that automatically adapt to user behavior, helping drive both engagement and profitability.

In the highly competitive and diverse Asian iGaming landscape, the company aims to differentiate itself through adaptability and speed.

“What really differentiates Promofy is our plug-and-play approach tailored for speed and flexibility — crucial in fast-moving Asian markets where operators can’t afford long development cycles or rigid systems,” Davarashvili said.

Promofy also emphasizes measurable outcomes, such as increasing player lifetime value and reducing bonus dependency, as key advantages in the region.

“In Asia, where cultural diversity and player preferences vary widely, our AI tool adapts dynamically to local nuances, providing operators with a scalable, data-driven retention engine that delivers sustainable growth — not just short-term spikes,” he added.
