The former lessee of the Mariana Resort, Kan Pacific Saipan, has asked the Superior Court to dismiss its complaint against Imperial Pacific International.
The complaint stems from a reported agreement that IPI would take over the lease of the Mariana Resort in 2015, on land which Kan Pacific had been leasing since 1977. IPI had previously asked for the case to be dismissed as the islands’ Department of Public Lands was also a “third-party beneficiary to the contract in dispute”, liable to receive funds from Kan Pacific.
