Foreign visitors boost Jeju Dream Tower casino sales by 84% in August

Lotte Tour Development Co. Ltd, the operator of Jeju Dream Tower, reported an 84.4 percent year-on-year increase in monthly casino revenue, with a 44.5 percent sequential rise, reaching KRW33 billion ($24.6 million).

This impressive performance is attributed to a surge in foreign visitors, driven by an increase in direct flights. The property’s casino welcomed 37,494 visitors in August 2024, setting a new record for monthly visitor numbers, surpassing the previous record set in July.

Non-gaming revenue also saw a modest month-on-month improvement of 7.4 percent, totaling KRW9.93 billion ($7.4 million).

Sales in the hotel sector increased by more than 20 percent year-on-year, reaching KRW17.54 billion ($13 million). Notably, the average room rate in August was KRW336,789 ($251), up 30.5 percent from KRW258,121 ($193) last year.

In the first eight months of 2024, casino revenue reached KRW192.4 billion ($144 million), reflecting a 124 percent increase year-on-year. Conversely, hotel revenue decreased by 3.8 percent to KRW59.0 billion ($44.0 million).
