PCSO gives out PHP1.4 billion ($25 million) in prizes in just two days, smashing records in a landmark week under general manager Mel Robles.

In 2024, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is setting records with high sales and consistently creating new multi-millionaires.

In a record-setting week since general manager Mel Robles took the helm in July 2022, the PCSO had produced two multi-millionaires in succession, resulting in the charity body giving away some PHP1.4 billion ($25 million) in prizes in just two days.

“This is what we want. To bring hope and joy to our bettors for them to continue patronizing and trusting our games at the PCSO,” general manager Robles said.

“The more people who would patronize our games, the more help and assistance we can render to our countrymen who are in need. As I always say, more bets equals more charity services,” the head of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office added in a statement.

Roble’s statement was issued after a lucky lone winner won over PHP698.8 million ($12.5 million) in the Grand Lotto 6/55 draw on (Wednesday) January 17th.

It was the second time in as many days that a lone winner bagged over PHP600 million ($10.74 million) in a lotto draw.

On Tuesday, a bettor won PHP640.65 million ($11.5 million) with the combination 26-33-14-48-06-42 in the Super Lotto 6/49 draw.

Aside from giving away huge prizes, the PCSO is also continuing to draw more bettors after recording PHP265 million ($4.74 million) in one-day sales on Tuesday (January 16th).

The amount was the highest recorded one-day sales in over five years or since October 14th, 2018, when the prize pot hit PHP1.18 billion ($21.1 million).

To recall, the PCSO launched the Handog Pakabog promo on December 16th, 2023, raising the guaranteed prize of PHP500 million ($8.9 million) each for Ultra Lotto 6/58 and Grand Lotto.

One winner bagged the Ultra Lotto 6/58 jackpot worth over PHP571 million ($10.2 million) on December 29th, barely three days before New Year. It was the biggest jackpot prize in 2023.

Towards the end of the year, the PCSO also raised the jackpot to PHP500 million ($8.9 million) for the Super Lotto 6/49 and PHP100 million ($1.8 million) each for Lotto 6/42 and Mega Lotto 6/45.

The Lotto 6/42 jackpot prize of over PHP108 million ($1.93 million) was won on January 2nd with three winners sharing the prize.

The Megalotto 6/45 jackpot, worth more than PHP121.8 million ($2.18 million), was won on January 8th, split by two winners.
