The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) has pledged PHP 120 million ($2.2 million) to the socio-civic programs of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

PAGCOR chairman Alejandro Tengco signed a agreement with OVP on Tuesday. Vice President of the Philippines Sara Duterte witnessed the signing of the agreement.

According to the press release, PAGCOR will provide PHP 120 million through four tranches – or PHP 30 million per quarter to support OVP’s medical and burial assistance programs nationwide.

OVP requested supplemental funding from PAGCOR due to the influx of requests for financial aid from its newly established satellite offices in different parts of the country.

Tengco notes that one of PAGCOR‘s main Corporate Social Responsibility programs is assisting in meaningful activities.

“It is an honor for us to be a part of OVP’s efforts to address poor citizens’ medical and financial needs. We hope that more citizens who approach the OVP will be given competent assistance through this assistance,” he said.
