Saipan gaming regulator cuts staff

The Commonwealth Casino Commission (CNMI) has terminated 22 of its staff, as it continues to grapple with budget constraints caused by IPI’s casino closure, suspension of license and lack of annual casino license payments.

CCC executive director Andrew Yeom said the operator served 60-day termination letters/notices without cause to roughly 20 employees, whilst some found work elsewhere. This amounted to a 60 percent reduction in workforce for the CCC.
