Imperial Pacific International has confirmed that the CNMI welcomed its first batch of travel bubble tourists from South Korea in July, after signing a travel corridor agreement at the end of June.
IPI made the announcement in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Sunday, August 1, though the company has not been allowed to operate due to its license being suspended.
In the same announcement, it is also understood that the US government has approved re-including Hong Kong in the CNMI visa-waiver program.
IPI said its board believes the two measures will help Saipan better plan and restore tourism.
