Macau average occupancy rate reached 48.7% in February

The average occupancy rate of guest rooms in Macau rose 10.3 percentage points in February, reaching 48.7 percent, according to the latest data from the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC). 

A total of 493,000 guests stayed at hotel establishments in Macau in February, rising 29.3 percent year on year.

This was made up of 396,000 guests coming from mainland China, up 30.9 percent year on year, and 68,000 local guests (rising 25.1 percent year on year). 

The data also found that the length of stay grew by 0.1 to 1.8 nights in the month. 

This brought the average occupancy rate for the first two months of 2022 up 6.8 percentage points to 46.2 percent.
