The number of guests checked into hotels and guesthouses surged by 160.2 percent year-on-year to 622,000 in March, according to data from the Statistics and Census Bureau.
This was due mainly to more than a two-fold increase in guests from Mainland China – reaching 539,000 in the month.
Average occupancy rate in the month stood at 55.3 percent, up 32.1 percent year-on-year, and up 16.9 percent from the previous month.
