Macau welcomed approximately 169,000 visitors on Monday, the fifth day of the National Day Golden Week holiday, bringing total arrivals for the first five days to around 920,000, according to official data.
The latest daily tally was about 20 percent below Sunday’s roughly 210,000 arrivals. However, the five-day total equates to a daily average of approximately 184,000, above the industry’s pre-holiday expectation of 150,000 visitors, which was endorsed by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
The Border Gate remained the busiest entry point on Monday, handling around 81,000 visitor arrivals. Hengqin Port followed with approximately 37,000, while the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge checkpoint recorded about 21,000.
Macau’s checkpoints handled more than 770,000 entries and exits during the day, including residents and other travelers. Visitor departures exceeded 180,000, outnumbering arrivals as the holiday moved toward its final two days.
