MGM and EM District reaffirm their growing partnership by welcoming Thai business leaders back to Macau from March 5–8.
Following last year’s successful collaboration, MGM has expanded its promotional footprint in Thailand by offering curated luxury experiences to EM District’s premium clientele at MGM’s properties, as well as organizing business delegation visits to Macau.

This year, the partnership expands with the launch of Macau tourism information booths in several high-profile shopping centers across Thailand, supporting the Macao SAR Government’s efforts to attract more international visitors and reinforcing Southeast Asia as a key source market.
To mark the occasion, MGM hosted a welcome gala dinner on March 5 at Vista in MGM COTAI. Distinguished guests from the MSAR in attendance included: Elaine Wong, Executive Director of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute; Lau Fong Chi, Head of Destination Marketing Department of Macao Government Tourism Office; Vic Lam, Head of Division of Culture, Tourism, MICE, Trade and Commerce of Economic Development Bureau of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin; Dr. Iwan Dietschi, Senior Vice President of Hospitality of MGM; and Cindy Lui, Vice President of Resort Sales of MGM.

“MGM has been proactively expanding our international reach in line with Macau’s development strategy,” Dr. Iwan Dietschi said during the dinner. “Thailand has become a remarkable market at MGM. In 2025, we saw a 26% year-on-year increase in Thai hotel guests compared to 2024. With the exciting itinerary that our team has curated throughout this trip, including visits to MGM’s cultural tourism attractions including the POLY MGM MUSEUM and Macau 2049 residency show, I sincerely hope that this experience will spark inspiration for future collaborations.”
From Thailand’s committee were present: Ittirit Ratanadaros Umpujh, Managing Director of Emporium; Suthavadee Sirithanachai, Vice President – Marketing of EM District and Pitchayatep Yuktasevi, Managing Director and Shareholder of the Thai Dairy Industry Co.,Ltd.

Ittirit Ratanadaros Umpujh, Managing Director of Emporium, expressed his excitement: “At EM District, we take pride in being ‘Extraordinary’. MGM shares the same values, and we see tremendous potential in Macau, which is fast becoming a world-class hub for lifestyle and high-end entertainment. Being part of this evolution alongside a visionary partner like MGM gives us great confidence in the path ahead. We look forward to deepening the relationship between EM District, the Thai entrepreneur delegation, and MGM, and setting new benchmarks for global partnerships.”
EM District is home to three premier retail destinations: Emporium, EmQuartier and Emsphere. The delegation of over 50 members represents a diverse range of sectors including food and beverage, finance, real estate, luxury retail, technology and aviation education.

During their stay, the delegates explored MGM’s MICE facilities and gained insights into the innovative cross-border exhibition model jointly developed by Macau and Hengqin. They also joined in guided art tours within MGM properties and visited iconic Macau landmarks such as Senado Square, A-Ma Temple, Kuan Tai Temple, Kun Iam Temple, and Taipa Village, immersing themselves in Macau’s vibrant heritage and unique East-meets-West charm.
