Melco Resorts and Entertainment’s Studio City Phase 2 is going to open its first segment, with a new indoor water park and hotel tower – Epic Tower – this Thursday, April 6th.

Both of the new openings comprise the first part of Phase 2 of Studio City.

Melco describes the hotel tower as Studio City’s ‘most luxurious yet’, with 338 suites, a pool, fitness center and spa. While the hotel is scheduled to open on April 6th, bookings for that date were not yet available on the property’s website when this was published.

Studio City, Melco’s second property on the Cotai Strip, launched an outdoor Water Park on May 23rd, 2021. According to the property’s website, the new park will have a ‘pre-screen’ opening for select members from April 6th to 27th, while the indoor and outdoor parks will be open to the public from April 28th.

The second part of Studio City’s Phase 2 is set to open in the third quarter of this year, and will include an additional hotel tower, according to Melco Resorts. It will operate under the W Hotels brand, part of Marriott International Inc, the firm announced in 2021.

According to information shared previously, Studio City Phase 2 is designed by architecture firm Zaha Hadid Architects – which also designed Morpheus at City of Dreams. Phase 2 is estimated to cost some $1.3 billion.

Overall, Phase 2 new is set to offer one of Asia’s largest indoor & outdoor water parks, a six-screen Cineplex, comprising two regular houses and four VIP suites, as well as a state-of-the-art MICE space.
