Revenue from India’s video game and esports market is set to grow by a compound average rate of about 16.5 percent to reach 24,212 crore by 2025, more than double its current level, according to forecasts from PwC.
India’s gaming market is dominated by the social/casual section, which makes up 77 percent of the total, the firm said in its annual Global Entertainment and Media Outlook report.
“India’s esports market is small but as awareness grows and, crucially, the mobile esports offering becomes stronger, this sector will see rapid expansion, at a 31.6 percent CAGR over the forecast period,” it said.
