The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) have promoted Michael Fitzsimons to Executive Director of Wagering Products, commencing from September 2022.
Fitzsimons will be a member of the Board of Management at the Hong Kong Jockey Club, reporting directly to Chief Executive office Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.
Fitzsimons will be spearheading the club’s wagering business that includes horse racing, football wagering and the Mark 6 Lottery. According to a statement by the HKJC, Fitzsimons will be leading the “international commingling business and China Sports Lottery co-operation development.”
Fitzsimons originally joined the Hong Kong Jockey Club as the Director of Trading in February 2021, to lead the growth of the club’s sports betting business.
A statement from the club reiterated their belief that Fitzsimons will continue to lead the growth of the club’s racing and lottery business in a post-pandemic recovery.
“With his extensive knowledge of sports betting and the application of artificial intelligence to trading, Fitzsimons is well placed to sustain the growth of the club’s wagering business.“
