This week’s PDC World Darts Championship final has become the most bet-on darts event in Kambi’s history following the remarkable performance of darts prodigy and Championship debutant Luke Littler. Betting activity on the Kambi network during the clash between Littler and ‘Cool Hand Luke’ Humphries was up 45% on the 2023 final.

According to data from Kambi’s global partner network, the number of bets on last night’s epic final between runner-up Littler and Championship winner Luke Humphries was 45% higher than last year’s final between Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen, contributing to what was a record tournament overall.

Littler’s remarkable run throughout the Championship and formidable performance against Humphries in the final has thrust him into the sporting limelight, and he is now among the early favourites for the 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

Luke ‘the Nuke’ also caused a stir in the United States where Kambi network data shows a notable surge in enthusiasm for darts with the number of bets on this year’s World Darts Championship increasing 63% compared to the previous year’s tournament.

Kambi’s SVP Trading, Simon Noy, said: “The PDC World Darts Championship final has always been a highlight of the sporting calendar, but interest in last night’s final was truly remarkable. Luke Littler’s phenomenal talent, particularly at such a young age, attracted worldwide attention, driving unprecedented interest and betting engagement globally.”
