Luxury cruise operator Crystal Cruises, which was purchased by the A&K Travel Group just a year after the default of Genting Hong Kong, is considering the reintroduction of casinos on its two ships: Crystal Serenity and Symphony.

According to reports, the company is currently in discussions with a concessionaire about the possibility of adding casinos in some form.

Previously, the owner had removed casinos from the two ships during their refurbishment. The casino was “a huge, huge space in our opinion. Too big,” said Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, which acquired the ships and several assets when the original Crystal Cruises collapsed in 2022.

According to the plan, the casinos may be reintroduced in 2024, but the space will be smaller compared to the original one.

Formerly operated by Genting Hong Kong, Crystal Cruises was relaunched under the A&K Travel Group earlier this year, rebranding itself with its new vision: “Crystal – Exceptional at Sea.”

New cruises on the group’s Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony ships will embark throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and more.
