Manila Jockey Club parent company appoints Jose Dela Cruz as the new director

Dennis Ryan Uy has resigned as Director of MJC Investments Corporation, the company responsible for the Manila Jockey Club, effective from January 2 of this year.

According to the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission, to fill the vacancy, the MJC board appointed Jose Marie Angelo Dela Cruz to replace Uy as the Company’s Director effective from the same day.

MJIC is a publicly-listed company whose primary business is in the tourism and entertainment industries mainly focused on the Philippines’ only horse racing track at the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite.

Most of the company’s revenues are derived from horse race betting operations, through more than 250 Off Track Betting stations that are owned and franchised around the country, as well as from bets placed at its Turf Club.

The company headed by Alfonso Reyno Jr. has shares in co-developments with Ayala Corporation in various condominium and office towers at the San Lazaro Business and Tourism Park township in Sta. Cruz, Manila, and from the suburban Canyon Ranch development located at the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite, in partnership with Century Properties.

Ancillary revenues are derived from its horse stabling rental operations, as well as revenues from a casino at the San Lazaro Leisure Park.
