Malaysian police arrest 216 individuals in raids over Chinese New Year period.

With global tourism approaching full recovery, the Chinese online travel agency (OTA) giant Trip.com Group has reported a strong booking interest in Asia.

MGM says that it made a comfortable $5 million per day during the Chinese New Year holiday, as Macau reopened and tourists came flooding back in.

Macau has resumed to normal, after nearly three years under restrictive measures due to the pandemic, borders are now open for all travelers, with testing measures eliminated for all arriving from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Macau is expecting a surge in Chinese tourists during the Chinese New Year holiday, after COVID prevention measures were dropped and the zero-COVID policy abandoned after nearly three years. This comes as Macau finally received authorization to allow tour groups in from mainland China.

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Galaxy Entertainment arranged a host of activities for single-living elderly members and families of elderly doubletons of Peng On Tung Tele-Assistance Services Center.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment said it will pay a one-month bonus to all eligible non-management employees, rounding out the field of Macau's operators announcing annual payouts.

Citigroup has issued a conservative forecast for Macau's December 2024 gross gaming revenue (GGR), projecting a flat year-on-year performance at $2.3 billion. 

Analysts at Jefferies are largely in line with the Macau government’s estimates for gross gaming revenue in 2025, at $30.57 billion, a 2 percent increase from recently announced official estimates.
