MICE association launches online guide to assist event organizers

Slow road to recovery for in-person convention industry: Bernstein

Analysts at Bernstein are expecting a slow recovery of the in-person meetings and events industry, with visitation levels from this subset to return at 2023 at the earliest. 

Macau MICE events draw 515,000 in Q4

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 147 MICE events were held in the fourth quarter of 2020, and the number of participants and attendees was 515,000.

ICE London postponed to February 2022

Clarion Gaming confirmed it has postponed plans to hold ICE London and iGB Affiliate London in June this year, pushing the event to February 2022. The decision followed requests from industry.

Macau MICE events on the recovery path

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the number of MICE events held in the third quarter of 2020 increased by 25 quarter-to-quarter to 63; and the total number of participants and attendees jumped by 1,281 percent to 297,000. Nevertheless, the figures for MICE events and participants and attendees still recorded sharp decreases on a year-on-year basis.

Macau plans large-scale events to lengthen stay

Macau tourism authorities are planning a series of large-scale events to boost overnight visitation, though say the current levels entry of about 24,000 daily are likely to be maintained through year end.
