AGEM Index up 11.4% from May

In May 2024, the AGEM Index surged by 126.56 points, reaching 1,235.62—an impressive 11.4 percent leap from the previous month.

Compared to the same period last year, the index soared by 278.64 points, marking a substantial 29.1 percent increase. Among the 12 AGEM Index companies, eight reported stock price hikes during the month, contributing positively to the index, while three recorded declines.

Aristocrat Leisure Limited emerged as the primary positive influencer, with its stock price climbing by 12.6 percent, propelling a remarkable 67.53-point gain for the index. Likewise, Konami Corp. experienced a notable surge of 14.8 percent in its stock price, resulting in a significant 32.43-point increase in the index.

Conversely, Everi Holdings Inc. faced a setback with an 11.5 percent decrease in its stock price, leading to a modest 1.59-point deduction from the AGEM Index. Notably, International Game Technology PLC (IGT) observed no fluctuations in its stock price during the period, thus exerting no influence on the index.

Meanwhile, in the broader market context, all three major U.S. stock indices witnessed gains compared to the previous month. The NASDAQ surged by 6.9 percent, the S&P 500 rose by 4.8 percent, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 2.3 percent, indicating a positive trend across the board.
