Genting Malaysia forms part of a consortium for NY sports betting license

Genting Empire Resorts LLC, which is 49 percent owned by Genting Malaysia, has formed a consortium with fellow casino operators including Caesars and Wynn Resorts to bid for a sports betting license in New York. 

According to updates on the New York State Gaming Commission, the Genting subsidiary is working with Caesars Sportsbook, PointsBet, Rush Street Interactive, and WynnBET in a consortium known as “Sports Information Services Ltd”, doing business under the name Kambi. 

Other than Kambi, there are six other primary applicants for a license to operate mobile sports betting in New York which includes Betfair Interactive US LLC, TSG Interactive US Services Ltd and Score Digital Sports Venture Inc.
