New casino investor in Altai gambling zone

A new investor in Russia’s Altai Territory intends to go ahead with plans to construct a RUB3.5 billion casino, to open by 2024, according to state representatives.

The casino, built by investor Zolotaya Lastochka 8, will have 300 slot machines, 100 gaming tables, and a hotel. Construction is to start in May 2020, as the current lockdown on the country does not prohibit construction activity.

Currently, the only other casino in the Siberian coin gambling zone is Altai Palace. Last year, it received around 140,000 visitors, according to the head of the regional tourism department Yevgeny Deshevykh.

The lockdown across Russia has been extended to May 11.
