More than 400 people protested on Sunday opposing a proposed set of changes on how employees take mandatory holidays in Macau, local media reports.
The proposal involves changing three out of four of the city’s compulsory public holidays into normal public holidays.
The proposal suggests that these three days can be taken on other public holidays and suggests for them to be normal working days.
The change would mean that workers would need to most likely work on these days.
Protestors on Wednesday, supported by the New Macau Gaming Staff Rights Association, said the move did not protect workers’ rights.
The association handed a petition against the move to the government headquarters.
