Macau tourism to surpass 32 million visits this year: official

Macau’s Secretary of Social Affairs and Culture is confident tourist arrivals to Macau will recover and that the city will have more than 32 million visitors this year, local media reported.

“We are very confident that the number of visitors will be similar to the figures we planned for at the beginning of the year,” Alexis Tam said on TDM television.

Last year Macau welcomed 31.5 million visitors.

In the first seven months of this year Macau saw 3.5 percent fewer tourist arrivals at 17.4 million, compared to the same period the year before.
