Las Vegas CEO offers free flights with “Keep America Flying” promotion

As Las Vegas begins to welcome back visitors to the city, one CEO has thought of a way to spur tourism by offering 1,000 free domestic flights to the gambling hub.

Derek Stevens, who on Wednesday announced plans to reopen his downtown Las Vegas properties the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel and Casino on June 4, said he will be giving away 1,000 free flights to Las Vegas from 20 U.S. cities under a “Keep America Flying” promotion.

The flights will be offered to the first 1,000 entrants, who can book on theD.com website.

“As we begin to reopen our doors across the city, we are proud to help reinvigorate travel to Las Vegas while supporting airlines in America impacted by the COVID-19 crisis,” said Stevens. “We can’t wait to safely bring visitors to the city and remind them why we’ve earned the title of ‘Entertainment Capital of the World.’ And while we’d love for visitors to stop by Downtown Las Vegas, we primarily want to get people back to Las Vegas to experience the attractions and amenities that make it one of the greatest places on Earth.”

The offer comes as Las Vegas casino operators begin to slowly reopen their properties.

On Wednesday, both MGM Resorts and  Wynn Las Vegas announced a June 4 opening for their Las Vegas properties.
