Kangwon Land reopening pushed back to July 13

The executives of Kangwon Land have once again opted to push back the reopening of Kangwon Land for another week, this time targeting July 13 for a return to business.

Operations at Kangwon Land were originally suspended on February 23.

The company executives remain concerned about the spread of the coronavirus within South Korea, where the infection has still not been entirely controlled.

The latest decision for delay was made after another emergency meeting of company executives, and was again prompted by new cases in South Korea.

Kangwon Land, which is located in an economically underdeveloped former mining community, is a major pillar for local business, and the ongoing suspension of its operations has deeply affected the region. It is South Korea’s only casino that allows local people to gamble.
