Starlight Culture terminates its gaming-related businesses

Starlight Culture Entertainment Group, formerly known as Jimei International, made clear in its latest filing to the Hong Stock Exchange that it is no longer in the gaming business.

The statement said, “On February 20, 2020, the company’s board of directors decided to cease its entertainment and gaming business to focus its resources on its media and culture business. All operations of the business were stopped during the period. As at June 30, 2020, the entertainment and gaming business was classified as a discontinued operation.”

The company had in previous years been known for its junket operations in Macau and Cambodia, and for operations of the small Casino Jimei in Macau.

The company is now mainly focused on its film business.
