Sasebo mayor launches fourth term with pledge of proactive IR support

Sasebo Mayor Norio Tomonaga used the occasion of the launch of his fourth term on Tuesday to pledge his proactive efforts to gain an IR license at the Huis Ten Bosch theme park.

“We are a promising IR candidate location,” he declared to the gathered audience of more than two hundred well-wishers, “I will work hard to have us selected by the national government.”

He also outlined seven other priorities at his inauguration ceremony, such as the redevelopment of the city center district, with an eye to making Sasebo a more attractive place to live in.

Tomonaga noted that there are eight newly-elected members of the city council, and that he would take special care to explain his policies to them.

His new term in office lasts until April 29, 2023.
