Sands China says it is responding to the Macau government’s request to take part in targeted poverty relief efforts in Mainland China by sourcing products from impoverished Congjiang county.
The operator said it has now received its second batch of products from the county, which is located in Guizhou province. The shipment included mandarin oranges, chili source and bottled water.
Initiated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, the procurement drive seeks to strengthen cooperation between enterprises in Congjiang County and Macau, and to support mainland China’s nationwide poverty alleviation work.
“By taking the lead in supporting the government’s procurement drive from Congjiang, we hope to contribute to the development of the county and we look forward to continuing our support,” Sands China President Wilfred Wong said.
