Obayashi sets up Osaka Yumeshima development team


Construction company Obayashi Corporation has announced the establishment of a nine-member project team for the development of a potential IR as well as the 2025 World Expo at Yumeshima island, Osaka.

The team, which was actually established on May 15, is headed by Kojiro Nitta and based in Obayashi’s main office in Osaka. The formal name of the new group is the “Yumeshima Development (Expo – IR) Project Team.”

The press release noted, “The Obayashi Corporation, which was founded in Osaka, will contribute to the further development of the Kansai region utilizing its technology and know-how that has been cultivated in these lands.”

A spokeswoman for Obayashi told Asia Gaming Brief that they were not aware of any similar project teams at the other four major Japanese construction companies.
