MGM China Holdings has expressed its condolences for the death of its executive board member Peter Man Kan Wong, who died in Hong Kong on Monday evening.
Wong, aged 70, has been on the board of MGM since 2012. He is also a long-standing Hong Kong deputy to China’s National People’s Congress.
“Mr. Wong made an invaluable contribution to the company during his tenure of office,” MGM said in a statement. “The board would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mr. Wong for his dedication and wish to convey its condolences to his family.”
With Wong’s death, MGM’s board comprises eleven members, including five executive directors, three non-executive directors and three independent non-executive directors, with the number of independent non-executive directors falling below one-third of the Board as required under Hong Kong Stock Exchange rules.
He also served as a member of each of the audit committee, the remuneration committee and the nomination and corporate governance committee of the company.
