Melco named socially responsible operator of the year

Melco Resorts & Entertainment was named socially responsible operator of the year for the land-based sector at the 12th International Gaming Awards.

Ms. Akiko Takahashi, executive vice president, Chief Officer of Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility, received the award on behalf of Melco at the award ceremony held in London, United Kingdom.

Melco’s three-pronged system utilizes a comprehensive framework to implement initiatives developed for responsible gaming; including process and technology, community engagement and employee education. Melco is the first gaming and integrated resort operator in Asia to deploy facial recognition systems at all gaming area entrances to assist self-exclusion and consented third-party exclusion. Melco continues to promote and raise awareness of responsible gaming both internally and externally through its best-in-class and pre-emptive strategies to benefit a healthier, and more sustainable society.
