MBS settles $6.5m lawsuit from former patron

Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands has agreed to settle a lawsuit from a Chinese gambler demanding S$9.1 million ($6.5 million), the South China Morning Post reports, citing a person familiar with the matter.

MBS also agreed to allow the patron, Wang Xi, back into the casino as long as he abides by its policies, the report added.

The newspaper said neither Marina Bay Sands, or Wang, who was contacted through his lawyer, would comment.

Wang claims the money was sent to other patrons without his approval. His claims triggered an anti-money laundering investigation by Singapore authorities.

The out-of-court settlement in June includes a “non-admission” of liability from both sides as part of the settlement, the person was cited as saying.
